Installation cost
The initial outlay for a SunFlow® underfloor heating system is less than most Kiwis expect. A natural gas fired system can cost as little as $10,000 installed for an area of 110sqm, with pricing scaling on project size, heat source choice and site location — the same variables that affect any central heating install.

Running cost
According to Consumer NZ, central heating using natural gas costs between 6c and 12c per kWh, and heat pumps running on electricity cost roughly the same. With radiant floor heating, the floor slab and everything in the room retain heat for much, much longer, so running costs are typically up to 40% less than forced air central heating using the same fuel type.
